Join us at the corner of Sycamore and Biddle Avenue at dusk. This festive event will feature carolers spreading holiday cheer, complimentary cookies, and warm hot chocolate for attendees to enjoy. The highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial lighting of the tree, conducted by the Wyandotte Municipal Services Electric Department. We look forward to celebrating the start of the holiday season with you.

Let’s welcome Santa Claus to the City of Southgate. Together they will light the Municipal Christmas Tree at Kiwanis Park. Christmas Carols will fill the air as Santa is presented with the key to the City.
Following the tree lighting, miniature train rides will be offered by the Great Lakes Live Steamers to see Santa Claus in his North Pole Hut.
This is a free event. Donations to the Great Lakes Live Steamers are appreciated.

Join us for an afternoon of festive fun and holiday shopping at the Allen Park Community Center! This family-friendly event will feature a variety of local vendors offering unique gifts, crafts, and delicious treats—perfect for checking off your holiday shopping list.
Whether you’re looking for the perfect holiday gift or simply want to enjoy the season’s spirit with your community, the Holiday Market is the place to be!

Experience the City’s annual Winterfest Day Celebration.
Tentatively, the parade kicks off from the Taylor Recreation Center at 5 p.m. Lots of music, food, and refreshments for sale in the Sheridan Open Air Pavilion in Heritage Park once the procession arrives. Holiday characters abound. Once Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive, the official tree-lighting will take place. Fireworks cap off the evening.

The Winterfest 5K offers running, walking, and children’s options and kicks off the City’s annual holiday season celebration day. Tentatively, the kid’s run starts at 9:30 a.m. with 5K following at 10.
Online registrations offer various discounts for signing up early. Finisher medal, long sleeve t-shirt, runner snacks and treats, age group awards, and hot cocoa at the finish line. All proceeds go to the Taylor Goodfellows.

Did you miss Santa at our annual Tree Lighting and Christmas Express Train Rides? Don’t worry! Santa’s mail box will be accepting letters in Market Center Park during our Light up the Park event!
There’s something for everyone! We can’t wait to share a bit of holiday cheer!

A holiday stroll around the lighted and decorated Heritage Park and Coan Lake historical area will include carolers, themed characters and “Holiday Barn” at the petting farm. Take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus (included with the price of the ticket).
Look for tickets/reservations to go on sale in November. Ticket reservation time slots tentatively run
on the half-hour each evening, beginning at 6 p.m. with the final timeslot of 8:30 each night. Various ticket packages offered for resident adults, resident children and nonresidents. Children under 2 are free.
