The City of Ecorse is currently hiring certified police officers. We are accepting lateral transfers based on experience to match our current wage scale.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the citizens of the City of Ecorse through effective patrol techniques, community policing, and responding to all calls for assistance. . Under the general direction of the Chief of Police, through the Chain of Command, reports directly to the shift supervisor.

Must be physical fit, and within proportionate height/weight standards and be able to pass a physical exam. Must have required knowledge of laws, court procedures and government services. Possess a thorough knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer service to the community.

All other aspects of a police officer will be explored during the interview to see if a candidate is suitable for the position.
